Services  |  Description

As a full-service travel agency dedicated to romance travel and theme park planning, Journiac Travel & Tours offers many types of professional services. These range from consultation and research services to reservation and support services — before, during, and after each trip.

You may also wish to learn more about the minimum guaranteed services you will receive with each booking.

Description of Services

Consultation

In the consultation services phase, your travel counsellor learns as much about you and your travel goals as possible in order to provide you with the best possible advice and recommendations.

Consultation almost always occurs at the beginning of any trip enquiry, but it also happens throughout the process of trip planning and beyond. Consultation is taking place during any discussion that involves travel preferences, wants, needs, and goals, personal likes and dislikes, personality traits and characteristics, past travel history, etc. Everything learned about you is considered when preparing proposals and providing ongoing support services. And since people can change and goals can evolve, it’s important to choose a travel counsellor who understands that and grows with you.

Research

The research portion of the trip planning process is the most time-consuming part, and for most people, it’s also the most overwhelming. Not only does research involve actually finding the desired travel products and services, but it also includes the task of sorting and comparing a variety of similar products and services to determine which ones offer the best value for your needs.

Again, research services are generally provided at the beginning of the trip planning process, but may be required at any time before — and even during — a trip.

Reservations

Reservation services seem obvious: submit the required information to make a reservation! In addition to the initial reservation, there may also be multiple payments to submit by specific deadlines. And, there are almost always special requests to submit or extra services to reserve separately (for instance, requesting a hotel room near the elevator, or purchasing advance seat selection for a flight). Plus, some reservations can get a bit more complicated (like when booking a Price Drop Guarantee promotion or submitting a Price Match request). The one aspect of reservation services people don’t want to hear about is submitting cancellations — no one likes it, but it can happen!

In the background, reservations involve a lot of tedious paperwork, which is yet another time-saving reason to use a travel counsellor!

Support Services

There are three aspects to support services: general trip support, product support, and insurance claim support.

General trip support involves answering client questions, foreseeing needs, and providing information on travel-related topics such as currency and tipping customs, electricity and electronic devices, useful mobile apps, what do in case of emergency, and much, much more.

Specific product support applies only to the actual travel products purchased. The type of information provided might be baggage allowances for flights, and services might include things like registering flights for insurance benefits, reviewing extra charges from a hotel or cruise line and obtaining a refund on your behalf, or submitting a reimbursement claim with an airline for a delayed flight and associated expenses.

Insurance claim support involves supplying you with the documents necessary to support a claim, and when possible, completing the claim documents and submitting the claim on your behalf, and communicating with the insurance company until claim resolution.

Together, these three types of support services encompass anything you might need after booking a trip — and even after returning home!

In fact, support services are offered before, during, and after a trip, so at no point is anyone left to handle whatever situation may arise on their own.

Pricing & Payments

Pricing for this full-service experience is described below.

The procedure for all clients and potential clients is the same. An estimate of the total service fees is provided, and the amount is collected in full prior to beginning the consultation and research process. A proposal is then prepared and presented for consideration. Once the proposal is approved, the adjusted balance is paid upon reservation. If no trip is booked, no further amount is due.

Proposal pricing and/or availability cannot be guaranteed at any time or in any way until reservations are confirmed. Proposals expire after 14 days and service fees become due if not yet paid in full.

Prices below do not include taxes. HST is 13% for residents of Ontario. Tax rates may differ for out-of-province clients.

Discounts
Past Clients

Past clients may refer to their annual holiday greetings card to receive a $50 to $75 holiday discount every year (depending on bookings made in the previous year).

Romance travel clients who book a destination proposal receive a $100 discount towards an individual or group wedding trip. Travel for the wedding trip must commence within 18 months of the date of return from the engagement trip.

Wedding clients receive a $100 discount towards honeymoon travel that is completed before the first anniversary of the date of return from the wedding trip.

Romance travel clients who book an individual or group event such as a wedding or renewal of vows qualify for a $100 discount on a subsequent individual or group anniversary or renewal of vows trip within five years. The booking window begins on the first anniversary of the original group departure date. The booking window ends on the fifth anniversary of the original group return date. Travel must be completed within one year of the booking date.

Large Bookings

If your travel party is booking several rooms, but not enough to qualify for group rates (see below), then Journiac Travel & Tours is still happy to offer a reduction in pricing. When paying full-price service fees of any type on a minimum reservation of three rooms, base fees will be half-price on the fourth and sixth rooms (full base fees still apply to room five). The discount continues to apply on additional alternating rooms until the booking qualifies for special group rates. No discount is provided on product support or planning fees. Note that the fees will be recalculated and redistributed evenly per room so that all members of your travel party may benefit equally from the discount.

Groups

Destination Weddings, Family Reunions, Group Retreats, Special Interest Trips & More

If your travel party is booking several hotel rooms or cruise cabins, it may qualify for a group rate. For travel parties qualifying for a group rate and booking a minimum reservation of 10 rooms or more, service fees will be reduced accordingly. When paying full-price service fees of any type on three rooms, there will be no base fees on the fourth and sixth rooms (full base fees still apply to room five). The discount continues to apply on additional alternating rooms. Likewise, the same alternating rooms receive half-price on product support fees. No discount is offered on planning fees.

Note that the final fees will be recalculated and redistributed evenly per room so that all group members may benefit equally from the discount. All fees will be included in the per person trip cost, so you can rest assured that the quoted price is the only price.
